You dont have to go overseas to see colour ful wildlife! If you look closely enough you can see it all around Britain!. Here are some pictures i took of a load of insects throughout the British summer. Mainly shot around Plymouth and the Devon coast. I hope you like them. enjoy!
Red Damsel fly, Pyrrhosoma Nymphula.
Mating Azure Drangonflys, Coenagrion Puella. The male is Blue and black and the female is brilliant green and black.
The Common Blue Butterfly, Polyommatus icarus(Lycenidae).
Peacock butterfly, Nymphalis io (Nymphalidae).
Red Admiral, Vanessa atalanta (Nymphalidae)
????Not sure about this one. Possibly a variation of a Ringlet butterfly. If anyone knows can you let me know?
Gatekeeper, Maniola tithonius (Satyridae)
Bumble Bee. Apidae.
A Species of Hoverfly.
Seven spot Ladybird, Coccinella Septempunctata. Here it can be seen feeding on small green Aphids.
Another Unkown. A species of Moth when il got time il research and find out more.
Garden Carpet Moth, Xanthorhoe fluctuata (Geometridae)
A species of Cattepillar i found. ??? Thought id take some close ups then return it to where i found it unharmed.

A Garden Cross spider, Araneus Diadematus. This fella i knicknamed spinny Lived on various parts of my van for months! proberbly the most travelled spider around !
Red lily Beetle, Lilioceris Lilli. Destroying my mums lillies! oh well.
