Sorry for the late update but here's a continuation from the pictures I took in Indonesia. After satisfied seeing the main parts of Bali, we decided to take a ferry over to the island of Lombok to visit a more rural and less touristy area. Our travels found us in the South of the Island in a town called Kuta. During our stay we rode mopeds all around the area to search for beaches and attractions and many times we rode past this sign advertsing a mystical cave of snakes and bats.
Snakes being one of my favourite animals I was desperate to go , however the girls were not so keen....
Really happy that my photo of an Oriental Fruit Fly got selected as photo of the day on the wildlife photo of the day website. The website celebrates the natural diversity of our planet and showcases photos of amazing creatures from all round the world. Check out my photo on the website here , and check out all the past amazing wildife photos and obviously the future ones which are picked daily!
I have been trying to sort out the lighting in my photos for a while now. Playing around with a few setups to try and reduce the harsh highlights in my macro photos so far has not worked. Recently i discovered the amazing work of a macro photographer called Matt Cole and he kindly shows you on his site how to make a nice simple d.i.y flash diffuser so i thought id give it a try.
The diffuser was pretty simple to make and looks something like this;
After building it i quickly nipped in the garden for ten minutes to test it and was really pleased with the soft light it created...
During the month of January 2015 I took leave of lovely England to a well deserved relaxing holiday in Bali. Apart from the usual holiday endeavours of beaches snorkeling moped rides and parties I actually managed to sneak off and get a few photos of some Bali wildlife! Here is a little collection of what I saw in my limited travel around the gardens and rural areas of bali:
This poor Tokay gecko(Gekko gecko) met an unfortunate demise
so many insects in the jungles of Ubud to take pictures of and so little time!
Been playing around with this picture of a yellow dragonfly I took in Bali this year and thought it might make a nice printed image, what do you think?. I'm going to get one printed out for myself but if anyone wants one just email me through the contact page of my website or on facebook, lu :)

Its been wet and cold so its alot harder to skate in the winter but luckily we have a couple of indoor skateparks close.
A new skatepark called the Junkyard has opened up in Saltash ,Cornwall. Started by Martyn Tambling and his wife,a local Bmxer. Me and my friend Dan went to have a look. The park is a really well built indoor bowl with loads of differnt line including oververts hips and spines. Check out the pics below for a better idea of what the park is like.
Dan Wakeham takes to fakie onllies on the oververt too easily!
I thought I'd get away from behind the lense for a quick...
